The old saying tells us that “Prevention is better than a cure”, and much like getting your car serviced regularly to keep it running well, your computer also needs a bit of extra care every now and then.
I’ve put together this comprehensive checklist based on my own experiences and feedback from my clients who tell me these are the regular issues they face with their PC or Laptop.

Particularly recommended for older computers and those exposed to excessive dust, cigarette smoke or pet hair. Helps prevent overheating, extending the life of your PC.

Responsible for all manner of ills from browser hijacking to slowing down your PC, a virus can be resident without you even knowing.
3. Spyware / Malware Scan & Removal
As viruses were the scourge of the 90′s, so spyware and malware are today. Can be used by organised crime gangs to gather your personal details, again, without you ever knowing.
4. Disk Cleanup
Increases hard drive space and reduces clutter.
5. Disk Defragmentation
Reorders the contents of your computer’s hard drive so it can find what it needs, quicker.
6. PC Tune Up
Disables unnecessary services and start up items – with less stuff to start up and run, your computer will start faster and use less of its resources to stay running. A bit like going for a cross country run – without the rocks in your backpack.
7. Operating System Updates & Application Patches
Ensures your system is up to date with the latest service packs, security fixes and patches that can improve performance, and also help prevent #3.
In addition, you’ll also receive a full report that includes:
- What was done during the health check (because everyone needs audit trails!)
- Recommendations of software or hardware upgrades that could make your computing experiences less painful
- An inventory of what’s installed on your computer, so you can check what should be and more importantly, what shouldn’t be there!

Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll come to your home or place of business at a time convenient to you, pick up your computer, service it at my workshop against the checklist you see above, and return it to you the next day, often in time for the start of business.
